Who is Eligible for ASPR Membership?
- ASPR members must meet the eligibility requirements in one of the membership categories below.
- Employees from third-party search firms or who are affiliated with a third-party search firm are not eligible for any ASPR membership categories. ASPR reserves the right to deny membership to those who do not meet our mission and values.
- All individuals seeking membership in ASPR are required to complete and submit an ASPR Membership application. Membership status is contingent upon approval by the Board, Membership Committee or their designee.

ASPR Membership Categories:
Individual Membership – $250 Annual
Shall be open to individuals who are engaged in the recruitment and/or retention of physicians and other healthcare providers and who are employed to do so by a hospital, hospital organization, clinic, medical group, health maintenance organization, or state or federal governmental agency. Consultants or employees who work for management companies are not eligible for Individual Membership. Individual members are eligible to vote on ASPR issues and may serve as an Officer, Director, Committee Chair, or in other leadership positions. Individual members have access to all privileges and benefits of ASPR membership.
Affiliate Membership – $250 Annual
Shall be open to individuals who are independent contractors and self-employed recruiters who are contracted directly to recruit for a single healthcare organization that employs physicians. It shall also be open to recruiters whose organization directly employs physicians and are contracted to staff other healthcare organizations with specific specialties (i.e. Emergency Medicine and Hospitalist). Affiliate members may not serve as an Officer, Director, Committee Chair, or in other leadership positions and will not have access to Chat, but will have access to all other privileges and benefits associated with Individual Membership.
Allied Membership – $250 Annual
Shall be open to individuals who do not actively recruit, but are directly involved in the recruitment/retention process, have supervisory responsibilities for in-house physician recruiters or are actively engaged in physician education through residency or fellowship programs. This category shall include, but is not limited to, healthcare executives, residency directors and coordinators, and full or part-time students with an interest in physician recruitment. With the exception of students, Allied Members must be directly employed by an organization outlined in the Individual Membership category. Allied Members may not serve as an Officer, Director, Committee Chair, or in other leadership positions, but will have all other privileges and benefits associated with Individual Membership.
