Jennifer was the Manager of Physician Recruitment and Retention at Glens Falls Hospital in Glens Falls, NY since 2004. She developed and implemented the hospital’s first in-house physician recruitment and retention program and has been involved with various other activities including Medical Manpower Planning and Strategic Planning initiatives. Jennifer is the Founder and a former President of Upstate New York Physician Recruiters, Inc. (UNYPR), a regional association of in-house physician recruiters. She has been a member of ASPR since 2004.

Julie joined Ewald Consulting in March of 2000. As the department director, she leads and directs the daily operations of the Meeting and Events department. She oversees the strategy and planning of meetings and special events for various local, national and international organizations. These events consist of annual conferences, awards programs and training/networking seminars. By directing client-based committees in planning and implementing events, she manages and coordinates all aspects on-site, monitors and controls event budgets, and negotiates all necessary contracts. Julie has 14 years experience in account management and marketing, with extensive time in managing and overseeing tradeshows within the U.S. and South America. She graduated from St. Cloud State University with a double bachelor’s degree in mass communications and speech communications.

Julie is the lead event coordinator for ASPR. She oversees all staff activities related to the annual conference.

Janey was brought on to the Ewald Consulting staff as a Communications Intern in the summer of 2007 and was promoted to Communications Specialist in early 2009. She assists clients with graphic and web design, marketing, writing, editing and other communication needs. She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2008 with a B.A. in journalism and a minor in design.

Janey is responsible for ASPR's graphic design, website maintenance, and other communication needs.

Amanda Ewald received her first paycheck from Ewald Consulting at the age of 10 for stuffing envelopes. She graduated from envelopes to variety of internships during high school and while attending St. Olaf College. She graduated from St. Olaf with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a concentration in Finance and Management in May, 2007. Amanda became the first third generation Ewald to work full time at the company when she was hired in August 2007 as Operations Manager. She is responsible for a variety of activities primarily in the accounting and finance department.

Amanda processes accounts receivable and accounts-payable, prepares monthly financial statements and handles financial compliance issues for ASPR.

David Ewald joined Ewald Consulting in August 1986 and became owner and President of the firm in 1998. Ewald Consulting has offices in Minneapolis-St. Paul and Chicago. The firm, founded by his father in 1982, provides coalition and association management, and government and public relations services to state, national and international associations and corporations.

Ewald received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Minnesota and in 1986 received his MBA in Business, Government and Society from the Carlson Graduate School of Management also at the University of Minnesota. In 1997 he was elected president of the Board of the Minnesota Government Relations Council and a recent survey, he appeared in the Minnesota Journal of Law and Politics list of best lobbyists (as selected by legislators and lobbyists).

Beginning in 2005 Ewald led a successful national, multi-state, multi-city public policy battle on behalf of one of his clients. His effort, and the work of other Ewald Consulting staff is described in the best selling book released in 2007: Free Lunch, by New York Times reporter and Pulitzer Prize winning author David Cay Johnston. Ewald has been interviewed and quoted by numerous radio, TV and print outlets and is a sought after speaker by organizations seeking to develop similar multi-state campaigns.

David is in charge of overall account satisfaction for ASPR. He staffs the strategic planning committee and Board of Directors meetings.

Jessica joined Ewald Consulting in January 2006, and in June 2007 she transferred to a remote office in Great Falls, MT. She has been involved in marketing and desktop publishing, web site development, database management, event planning, member and committee relations, and program development for a variety of our association clients. Jessica is a graduate of Carroll College in southwest Montana with Bachelor's degrees in communications and public relations. She currently serves as a board member and event planner for Pulse Great Falls, her local YPO (young professional organization), and as a board member for the Great Falls Farmers Market.

Jessica provides support for several ASPR committees including benchmarking and fellowship. She assists in making changes to the ASPR database and also assists on other technical matters.

Jacquie began working with Ewald Consulting as an intern to the Meeting and Events department in January 2008, and in June 2008, began an internship program working as an Operations Assistant. While working at Ewald, she also completed an internship program at Thrivent Financial as an events and Marketing Assistant. Jacquie is now at Ewald full-time having graduated from the College of St. Catherine in December 2008 with degrees in Marketing and Management. In her spare time, Jacquie tries to travel abroad as much as her schedule allows, enjoys spending time with family at the cabin in northern Wisconsin, and skiing.

Jacquie staffs the membership and marketing committee and is the staff member responsible for overseeing the management of membership renewal and recruitment activities.

Kathie Pugaczewski, CAE, CMP | 651-265-7859| kathiep@aspr.org
[OPERATIONS]

Kathie Pugaczewski is the vice president of operations and oversees the communications, meetings and events and member services departments. Kathie has more than 19 years of association management experience and joined Ewald Consulting in February 2005.

Kathie worked for the Builders Association of Minnesota (BAM) in variety of capacities for 12 years including meeting planner, lobbyist, communications, executive vice president. From 2001 to 2005, Kathie worked for the Midwest Society of Association Executives (MSAE).

She has a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis and completed the Institute for Organization Management at the University of Notre Dame. In December 2003, she earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation. She has run several half marathons and ran her first marathon in 2004 and has done several duathalons.

The events, communications and member services departments report to Kathie and she is responsible for making sure that all activities that should be fulfilled by those departments for ASPR are conducted properly and on time. She also oversees a variety of technical related issues.

Laurie joined Ewald Consulting in 1990 after working in a variety of association management positions. She earned her CAE in 1995. Her position as Communication Director involves editing and proofing all client publications; providing layout services for newsletters and brochures; and coordinating the efforts of Ewald Consulting's communications team. She also serves as executive director for the Minnesota Association of Mental Health Residential Facilities. She is an active member of the Midwest Society of Association Executives and the American Society of Association Executives. Laurie earned a B.A. in broadcast journalism from the University of Minnesota. She serves as an Adult Interpretive Volunteer at the Minnesota Zoological Garden and as a member of the Minnesota 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees (Board chair, 2005-07). She received the WCCO-AM Radio Good Neighbor award in 1998 in recognition of her volunteer work at the Minnesota Zoo.

Laurie is the staff member assigned to the JASPR committee and is responsible for coordinating the content and editing of the Journal.

Chris Swanson began her employment with Ewald Consulting in 2006. Chris currently works in member services, where she helps with events, membership and other projects. Prior to her joining the Ewald team she worked at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis.

Chris handles data entry and management of member data.
