Physician Recruitment 201 Module Now Available On-Demand

The second course of the ASPR Fellowship Certification Program, the Physician Recruitment 201 Fellowship Module, is now available as an on demand series. The six individual webinars can be viewed anytime, anywhere! No travel costs, no time out of the office! Take advantage of this convenient and cost effective Webinar series!

The Physician Recruitment 201 Fellowship Module webinar series includes downloadable presentations and supporting documents, access to the audio and visual pre-recorded webinar and the ability to contact presenters directly with any questions that you may have. The cost of your exam is also included in the price of the program.

This Module builds upon your knowledge base gained in the 101 Module and provides additional education and tools. Once you pass both the Physician Recruitment 101 and 201 exams, you will receive the designation of Diplomate of the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (DASPR).

The following topics are included in the series:

Provider Compensation & Incentive Plans
Learn how to use compensation surveys and understand current trends in compensation plans. Understand how physician compensation and incentive plans are influenced by practice type and characteristics.

Advanced Practice Provider Recruitment
Obtain knowledge on demographics, licensing, and scope of practice of Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and Certified Nurse Midwives. Learn about effective sourcing and compensation trends for advanced practice provider recruitment.

The Offer: Selling it – Closing it – Keeping it Closed
Discover how to manage expectations and what’s important in negotiation and reaching consensus. Understand agreements including letters of intent, offer letters, contracts, and the components of these agreements.

Relocation Policies: Rules of the Road
Understand the critical components of a relocation policy and procedure and receive templates to create your own. Gain knowledge on Internal Revenue Service regulations and which relocation expenses are tax-deductible.

Onboarding: Welcome to the Team!
Learn what components are required and how to implement an effective physician onboarding and orientation program. Receive valuable forms including orientation checklists, evaluation surveys and physician exit interview surveys.

Retention Matters
Obtain practical advice and examples on developing a retention program for your organization. Review physician satisfaction and causes of physician turnover. Learn what benefits are important to physicians.

$400 (members) or $625 (non-members) for the Series which includes presentations, supporting resource documents and registration fee for the Diplomate (201) Exam. **You must be a current member of ASPR to take the Diplomate Exam and your exam must be taken within one year of completing the course.

Sneak Peak of 2013 ASPR Annual Conference – Minneapolis

Annual Conference

The 2014 ASPR Annual Conference will be held in Minneapolis, MN from August 23-27 at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis. The recently renovated Hyatt is located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis on Nicollet Mall. The hotel is within walking distance of shopping, dining and popular attractions like Target Field, Metrodome, Walker Art Center and Loring Park. It offers many guest amenities including a full service business center, an indoor heated pool and access to the StayFit Athletic Club.

The Annual Conference brochure will become available and registration will open around May 1. The conference will hold the Fellowship Certification programs Saturday and Sunday. The main conference sessions will be held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and will end at noon on that last day. Based on feedback from our members, The Evening Event will now be held Monday night. The Education Committee is in the process of finalizing the Evening Event plans, but we can assure that you it will be a fun filled night! This year, room blocks have been secured at two locations - the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis and the Millennium Hotel. The Millennium is conveniently located across the street from the Hyatt. Room blocks will open at the time of registration.

As you budget for 2014, please note that the hotel room blocks offer a rate of $189/night (plus tax) at the Hyatt and $185/night (plus tax) at the Millennium. Conference registration fees will be as follows:

Reminder – Conference Call for Proposals Due December 6

The Call for Presentations for the 2013 ASPR Annual Conference is currently open! Annual Conference breakout sessions are designed to provide strategies, practical tips, and tools for improving processes and operations within the physician recruitment and retention profession. In order to ensure a balanced conference program, all submissions are reviewed, evaluated, and selected by the ASPR Education Committee.
Topics for proposals are listed in the Call for Presentations and fall into three Learning Tracks (Marketing and Sourcing, Trends in health care/Health Policy, and Adding Value…Other Duties as Assigned).

Share your expertise with your colleagues or recommend someone to submit a presentation proposal. Presentation proposals must be submitted online via the ASPR website by Friday, December 6, 2013. Please feel free to contact ASPR Executive Director, Jennifer Metivier, FASPR, with any questions.
