2012 ASPR Annual Conference Scholarship
The 2012 ASPR Annual Conference registration is now open. The conference will be held August 11-15 at the JW Marriott at LA Live in Los Angeles, CA. Our Hollywood inspired theme this year is Mission imPossible: Recruiting the Stars of Tomorrow. Register by July 11 for early bird discounts.
ASPR provides four scholarships for attendance to the conference each year. Scholarships include conference registration for the Physician Recruitment 101, 201, or 301 program and the main educational conference, hotel lodging (room and tax only) for up to four nights, and roundtrip economy or coach class airfare or rail fare (not to exceed $600) to Los Angeles, CA in August 2012. The recipient is responsible for making all travel, hotel, and registration arrangements (air travel must be secured with a 21-day advance fare) and will be reimbursed by ASPR upon submission of a receipt. All prizes are non-transferrable and cannot be used in conjunction with other prizes/awards. Apply online by June 13, 2012.
Reminder: Call for Board Member Nominations Due May 15
The call for nominations for 2012 ASPR Board of Directors positions is now open. This year we will elect the Secretary and two Members-At-Large. You may nominate yourself or another eligible member of ASPR. Before nominating someone, please make sure that he or she is eligible and agreeable to serving if elected. Nominations are open for the following positions:
Secretary: Serves on Board of Directors. The Secretary is responsible for ensuring that accurate and sufficient documentation exists to meet legal requirements, and to enable authorized persons to determine when, how, and by whom the board's business was conducted. This position includes the responsibility to participate in regularly scheduled meetings, serve as a liaison to a standing committee, review relevant information, and generally taking the organization’s matters conscientiously.
Board Member-At-Large: (two positions open) Serves on Board of Directors. As with other directors, has a duty to see that the organization is run in a business-like manner. This position includes the responsibility to participate in regularly scheduled meetings, serve as a liaison to a standing committee, review relevant information, and generally taking the organization’s matters conscientiously.
The terms for these positions will begin in August 2012 and end in August 2014.
Eligibility Requirements - Members of the Board must be ASPR members in the Individual Membership category and in good standing for a minimum of one year prior to the election. They must also be current active members on at least one ASPR Committee for at least one year. Board Members must be willing and able to travel (expenses reimbursed) to leadership meetings, the Annual meeting, attend monthly Board Meetings via phone, and act as a liaison to committees.
Nomination Process: Please complete the online Nomination Form by Tuesday, May 15, 2012, 5:00 p.m. Central Standard Time. Any nominations received after that time will not be accepted.

After nominations have been closed on May 15, candidate bios will be emailed to the membership on June 5. Online voting via the ASPR website will occur between June 5 and June 19, 2012. Ballots will be tabulated by the ASPR staff under the supervision of the Board. The results will be announced soon after by Scott Manning, ASPR President, on behalf of the Board of Directors.

Elections will be held at the AIR All Member meeting after the AIR educational conference on August.
