Annual Conference Sneak Peak – AIR, OAR, and CHIRN Meetings
AIR: AIR (Academic In-House Recruiters), a Chapter of ASPR, cordially invites you to attend an educational session they are hosting at the Annual Conference on Monday, August 13th from 3:30-4:30 PM in the Platinum AB conference room. The title of the presentation is Developing Community Networks in Physician Manpower Planning presented by Lisa Anastos. This session is open to all attendees; you don’t have to be an AIR member to attend.
Lisa Anastos is the Executive VP for Clinical Practice and Business Development at the University of Chicago Medical Center. She has spent over 24 years in academic medical centers in a variety of positions including serving as the Chief Operating Officer for the Brigham and Women’s Physicians Organization in Boston, Executive Vice President and COO at Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation, and Department Administrator for the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania and The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

OAR: The new Onboarding and Retention (OAR) special interest group (soon to be Chapter of ASPR) invites you to join them on Tuesday, August 14th from 4:00-5:00 PM in the Platinum AB conference room. The mission of OAR is to support ASPR members in the creation of best practice onboarding and retention strategies that can be implemented in their local institutions. OAR utilizes regular conference calls to discuss “hot” issues and pertinent topics. CHIRN: The Children’s Hospital In-House Recruiters Network (CHIRN), a special interest group of ASPR, also extends a warm welcome to their annual meeting which will be held at the Annual Conference on Sunday, August 12th from 4:30-6:00 PM in Platinum C conference room. New Job Board at Annual Conference: Post a Job – Find a Job
ASPR is offering a new Physician Recruiter Job Board at the 2012 Annual Conference. If you’re looking for a recruiter or are in the market for a new job, plan on stopping by the ASPR Physician Recruiter Job Board. Post a position or peruse opportunities. Arrange for a personal interview while you’re there!
The Job Board will be located next to the Registration desk in the Platinum Foyer of the JW Marriott at LA Live. You may post a job in one of two ways; you may print your job description on a single sheet of paper and post it on the board yourself or you may email a one page document in advance of the meeting to Julie Cygan at email@example.com and we will post it for you. The second option is also available to those who will not be in attendance at the meeting.
Remember: ASPR has an online job board as well where you can post positions or search opportunities for free. It is located on the lower right side of our home page.

AIR (Academic In-house Recruiters, a Chapter of ASPR) has announced the nominees for Leadership in 2012- 2013! Elections will be held at their meeting in Los Angeles on Monday, August 13. A web based ballot will be sent to all AIR members the week of July 23rd. The web based ballot is only to be completed by those members not attending the All Member Meeting in LA on August 13. Minutes from the meeting and election results will be forwarded to all AIR members in August.
