How are health reform and an evolving healthcare market shaping who doctors are and how they practice medicine? Why is our physician workforce no longer a united group, politically and economically? What is the “state of the union” of the medical profession? Who are our doctors today and who will they become tomorrow? What will be the keys to successful physician recruitment and retention?

Drawing from data collected through one of the largest physician surveys ever conducted in the United States, this program provides insight into today’s physician workforce trends: who physicians are, how they practice, their morale, and their views on today’s healthcare system.
This webinar will touch upon:

It’s a New Year — Time to Get Involved and Build Your Leadership Skills
Happy New Year! With the start of 2013, we invite you to join us on an ASPR Committee! We hope you’ve been able to utilize and enjoy many of the networking and educational resources available to you as an ASPR member. We hope you’ve enjoyed them so much and found them so valuable that you will consider joining an ASPR Committee as a volunteer to help us continue to provide our members with the programs and resources that in-house physician recruiters need to advance in their careers. You’ve got knowledge! Talent! Ideas! Creativity! And we hope you want to share those attributes with ASPR!
Volunteering can offer you a very rewarding experience! You’ll have the opportunity to develop leadership skills and acquire new skills and experience to add to your resume. Getting involved with a committee also provides you the opportunity to network with colleagues from across the country who have knowledge, skills, and insight that may provide ideas and solutions to enhance your work within your own organization. And we’re pretty sure you’ll make some new friends along the way!
Most Committees meet once a month for one hour via teleconference. You can get as involved as you’d like depending on your time and interest. Many Committees have subgroups that work on specific projects or pieces of projects, so you can give when you have the time and take a break when you don’t. We invite you to consider joining one of the following ASPR Committees that currently have opportunities for you to get involved:
If you’re interested in getting involved and volunteering for your professional association, please contact Jennifer Metivier, FASPR, at email@example.com. We can’t wait to hear from you!
Reminder: FASPR Recertification Requirements
As a Fellow of the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (FASPR), it is important to demonstrate continued commitment to education and advancement in the physician recruitment profession. In an effort to ensure that FASPRs maintain an appropriate level of education commensurate with the FASPR designation, ASPR has developed FASPR recertification requirements.
As of January 1, 2012, FASPR certification will be valid for three years from the date of certification. Recertification will be required within three months of the FASPR expiration date. FASPRs who obtained certification prior to January 1, 2012 will have three years to obtain their recertification requirements beginning on January 1, 2012.
The following requirements must be met in order to recertify and maintain your FASPR status:
- Must be a current ASPR Member in good standing
- Obtain a minimum of 24 CEUs over the three year period since most recent FASPR certification
- If 24 CEUS are not obtained, recertification may also be obtained by re-taking and passing all three fellowship exams
- Requirements must be met within three months of FASPR expiration
If these criteria are met, you will receive a new FASPR Certificate upon your recertification. Once you have re-certified three times, you will receive a Lifetime Certification and will not be required to re-certify again.
Learn more about eligible CEUs, the recertification application process, and FAQs on the ASPR website.
