I have experience planning education programs such as conferences, webinars, etc.
Over the past few years I have worked either as a Co-Chair of the Education Committee or as a committee member. We have strived to improve the content and scope of the offerings at the Annual Conference. We have developed tracts for focusing the offerings in effort to provide more learning opportunities. Additionally, we implemented a request for speaker process, which has increased the number and range of presentations. In my role on the Board I was involved in a change in the governance of the organization to provide better accountability among the at-large members. For example the Vice President of Education will now be responsible for the integration of all educational content across the following committees; Fellowship, JASPR, Education (Annual Conference) and Webinars.
Why do you want to the VP of Education?
To continue the integration of all Educational Components of ASPR for the enhancement of the membership. It is an evolving role and I welcome the opportunity to further develop it for future growth of the organization.
What experience/skills do you possess that would help you be successful in the role?
Enjoy utilizing the leadership skills that I have developed though the many volunteer organizations that I have had the pleasure of being part of. I was one of the founding members of the Upstate New York Physician which just concluded its second annual Educational Conference.
What would be a goal (or goals) for you in the role?
To develop an integrated approach to meeting the educational needs of our membership and to promote the organization to non-members in the healthcare industry.
