Give a Little, Get a Lot – Become an ASPR Volunteer
ASPR is a volunteer-led organization and we are always looking for dedicated individuals to volunteer their time. We hope you’ve been able to utilize and enjoy many of the networking and educational resources available to you as an ASPR member. We hope you’ve enjoyed them so much and found them so valuable that you will consider volunteering to help us continue to provide our members with the programs and resources that in-house physician recruiters need to advance in their careers. You’ve got knowledge! Talent! Ideas! Creativity! And we hope you want to share those attributes with ASPR!
Volunteering can offer you a very rewarding experience! You’ll have the opportunity to develop leadership skills and acquire new skills and experience to add to your resume. Getting involved with ASPR also provides you the opportunity to network with colleagues from across the country who have knowledge, skills, and insight that may provide ideas and solutions to enhance your work within your own organization. And we’re pretty sure you’ll make some new friends along the way!
Our Volunteer Development Portal lists all of the current volunteer opportunities available. Check out the ASPR Volunteer Job Board for positions available right now or complete a Volunteer Match profile and we will send you opportunities that meet your interests. If you are ready to take an active role on one of our committees, you may sign up through the Volunteer Development Portal or contact a committee chair directly.
If you have any questions about getting involved and volunteering for your professional association, please contact Jennifer Metivier, FASPR. We can’t wait to hear from you!
November Webinar - Diversity, Inclusion & You: Understanding Your Role in This Strategic Initiative
Register today for this FREE webinar held November 20 at 1:00 PM EST. Can’t make it? View it later On Demand!
Speakers: Stephanie Huckel, Diversity Specialist, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island; Shawn Kessler, Senior Strategist, ab+c
When you hear "Diversity" do you really hear "Equal Opportunity Program"? Or, you hear "Diversity" and think, "They're not talking about me"? This presentation will help you to gain a greater understanding of what diversity and inclusion really is...and what it means to your health system! Sure, Diversity absolutely includes gender, race, and ethnicity, but it also includes a great breadth of dimensions (yes, even straight white men). This expanded understanding of diversity and inclusion is what allows an organization to develop a true culture of inclusion where all employees feel that their contributions are appreciated, welcomed, and truly valued. This presentation will discuss the effects that diversity and inclusion have on attracting the workforce of the future and how they benefit organizational performance and outcomes. (Yes, it's tied to your organization’s strategic goals!) Additionally, the presenters will discuss their experience creating a recruitment campaign that promotes a culture of inclusion and specifically how this initiative was implemented by Baystate Health’s Office of Physician and Advanced Practitioner Recruitment and Retention.
