Description of Physician Recruitment experience: I started in physician recruitment as a contingency recruiter and worked in the area for three years until I joined Duke’s Medical Staff Recruitment (MSR) office in 1997, MSR initially recruited exclusively for our primary care practices, but over time we have been involved with our hospitalist programs development and growth and have been responsible for our academic recruitment efforts on and off campus. I worked for MSR for 12 years, six years as a recruiter, and six years as its Director. I formally launched Duke’s Physician Integration/ Onboarding Department for our faculty practice in 2009 and am the Associate Director.

What qualifications do you possess that will assist you in succeeding as a member of the ASPR Board of Directors?
I am honored to have been the Secretary of ASPR for the past two years. It’s been immensely educational to learn more about the global organization and how, we as growing organization can best prepare for our future. If elected, the next two years will be to build upon our new foundation.
Additionally, I have helped launch two chapters for ASPR, AIR (Academic In-House Recruitment Network) and OAR (Onboarding and Retention). I have also been a FASPR for three years and lead the onboarding module for 201 for the past two years.
Why do you wish to serve on the ASPR Board of Directors?
I appreciated the opportunity to serve in this role for the past two years. It’s been exciting to plan out our strategic initiatives, implement our plans, and responsibly position ASPR for a bright future. I look forward to be able to continue to serve with this leadership team again.
