Current Employer: AtlantiCare Health System, Atlantic City, NJ
Type of Organization: AtlantiCare Health System is a non-profit, two-hospital system serving southeastern New Jersey. The health system is the region’s largest healthcare organization with more than 5200 employees and 600 physicians in nearly 70 locations.
Total number of years of experience in Physician Recruitment: Ten (10) years
Description of Physician Recruitment experience: I am responsible for the recruitment of all our system’s employed physicians and advanced practitioners. Since the provider recruitment function is relatively new here at AtlantiCare, I have been involved with a great deal of ‘start up’ activities ensuring that a proper recruitment infrastructure is in place. I also partner regularly with our internal customers in order to constantly refine our hiring processes.
Number of years as an ASPR Member: Nine (9) years
ASPR Committee Membership: I’ve previously served as the Co-Chair of ASPR’s Chapter and Regional Relations Committee.
Have you been a member or Officer of any other Physician Recruitment/Relations Organizations?
Yes – I’ve previously served as President of the Academic In-House Recruiters (AIR) Network, the first official chapter of ASPR. From 2009 through 2010, I also served as AIR’s Membership & Marketing Chair.
Have you been a member or Officer of any other Non-Profit Organizations?
Yes – I previously served as an elected member of my church’s Parish Pastoral Council, a leadership body that facilitates the parish’s strategic planning process with oversight responsibility for the church’s thirteen groups and ministries.
What qualifications do you possess that will assist you in succeeding as a member of the ASPR Board of Directors?
Over the past two years, I have had the privilege of serving ASPR membership as a member of the ASPR Board. While I have found the work of the board to be fairly complex especially in light of our recent governance realignment and restructuring, I am confident that my experience on the board to date will no doubt serve me well going forward.
Why do you wish to serve on the ASPR Board of Directors?
It is important for me to continue to serve in capacities that ultimately benefit others – for this reason I want to continue my contributions as a member of the ASPR Board of Directors as a way of helping individual members and the in-house recruiting industry as a whole.
