Greetings, ASPR colleagues!
I recently spent a weekend with an incredible group of thought leaders…the leadership of ASPR.
Your ASPR Board of Directors and committee chairs gathered for a weekend to lay the groundwork for “ASPR — the next 25 years.” We reviewed our new vision statement: “Healthcare Is Transformed in Our Communities” and mission statement: “The Association of Staff Physician Recruiters empowers industry experts through education, research and engagement.” Based upon the vision and mission statements, we began building the foundation for the ASPR strategic plan. We also took a look at all of our committees and task forces to evaluate their functionality, tackle any roadblocks and celebrate their successes.
As I look back, 2015 has been an exciting year for ASPR; we celebrated our 25th anniversary and have grown to approximately 1,500 members across all 50 states. We revamped our governance structure, updated committee structures and the new vision will set the stage to inspire us all. And, have you checked out the ASPR Benchmarking survey results or the ASPR Physician Recruitment Process Report? There are a lot of great resources available at www.aspr.org ; check it out to see what’s new.
What do we have to look forward to in 2016? A new ASPR Executive Director, an updated strategic plan, opportunities for more membership involvement either on the committee level or task force level, and an exciting annual conference in New Orleans, May 14-18 with a focus on physician recruitment leadership and plenty of new surprises in store.
So, please join me as I thank the incredible group of thought leaders who volunteer to drive this organization forward every day in order to make this the ultimate “go-to” organization for all things physician recruitment. If you’re up for the challenge, let us know and we will help you find a committee, task force, or project that can benefit from your expertise and enthusiasm.
