By Lee Moran, SEPRA President and Physician Recruiter, Erlanger Health System, Chattanooga, TN,
SEPRA continues to grow and we are excited to have roughly 108 members to date!
SEPRA’s educational offerings continue through our quarterly webinar series. Our January webinar featured Steve Marsh from The Medicus Firm and his topic “The Difference a Word Makes” shared some common tweaks that can be made during the different stages of recruitment that can have a big impact. We actually broke a record with the number of attendees for this webinar!
We held another outstanding webinar April 10. Our speaker was Karen Weinstock, managing attorney for Weinstock Immigration Lawyers. Ms. Weinstock specializes in solving complex immigration problems and providing case strategy and management for organizations and individuals. Prior to opening her own immigration law firm, she was the managing attorney of Siskind Susser Immigration Lawyers’ Atlanta office for more than 11 years (2002 through 2013). Ms. Weinstock discussed Physician Immigration: How to Attract and Retain International Medical Graduates.
Thanks to both Mr. Marsh and Ms. Weinstock for their excellent presentations!
Because our members are asking for additional educational opportunities, we have started the initial planning for an educational conference in 2015. We will need a lot of help from volunteers to make this happen, so if you would like to be part of the planning team, please contact Lee Moran or Bonita Lancaster.
Finally, I have some great news from our website committee. We went live with our website April 1 – www.sepra-aspr.com. Big thanks to our website committee: Erin Wainwright, Regional Care Hospital Partners, Brentwood, TN, DeAnna Santana, Florida Hospital, Orange City, FL and Crystal Peterson, Specialists On Call. They put a tremendous amount of time and effort into this initiative. We would also like to recognize Practice Link for sponsoring and building our website.
