St. Paul, MN, May 28, 2014 — Affordable care, physician shortages, value-based payment models and more are changing the way hospitals and health care organizations do business. In-house physician recruitment professionals face these challenges on a regular basis and continually seek effective recruitment, onboarding and retention strategies to keep up with the changes. The Association of Staff Physician Recruiters’ (ASPR) annual conference to be held Aug. 23-27 at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis, Minn., will provide educational opportunities for in-house physician recruitment professionals - as well as health care executives and others involved with recruitment, onboarding and retention - to help them tackle these challenges head on.
“Recruiting physicians is more challenging than ever and the ASPR Annual Conference provides in-house physician recruitment professionals with strategies and techniques to improve their performance and move their careers forward,” says Jennifer Metivier, M.S., FASPR, executive director of ASPR. “We know that education is the key to staying abreast of the latest trends in an industry that is constantly evolving. Our conference provides that educational opportunity and gives in-house physician recruitment professionals a competitive edge."
Conference topics highlight current and upcoming health care trends, as well as effective recruitment, onboarding and retention strategies. Leading experts will speak on issues such as sourcing, onboarding, compensation, telemedicine, rural recruitment and other hot topics in the physician recruitment industry. The ASPR Fellowship Certification Program will also be offered at the conference.
Two keynote sessions will provide up-to-date information on topics critical to the in-house physician recruitment professional. David Horsager, M.A., CSP will deliver his keynote The Trust Edge: What Top Leaders Have and 8 Pillars to Build it Yourself. In his keynote, Horsager will combine humor and illustrations with business insight and analysis. He will discuss how doing the little things consistently add up to huge results. Attendees will walk away with concrete steps they can immediately use to improve their lives and careers. Joe Flower, premier observer and thought leader on the deep forces changing health care, will present his keynote Where We Are Headed: Notes from the Future – The Physician in the Next Healthcare. Flower will look far beyond the narrow confines of the Affordable Care Act at what is driving change in health care. He will explore the real economics of the health care market and will advise attendees on how to shift strategies, alliances and workflows for future success.
“The annual conference is a not only ‘career refreshing’ but has become one of the best ways to stay current in the industry, as well as examine new products and resources in the exhibit hall,” says Deborah Gleason, FASPR, CMSR-FMSD, Physician Development Administrator at The Nebraska Medical Center and President, ASPR board of directors. “The information is relevant and timely regardless of career status. Attendees leave the conference with a wealth of information and return to work with many executable ideas.” For more information or to register for the conference, please visit our website.
