Hotel Room Scam Alert
In years' past, a third-party housing company called Exhibition Housing Services, has made contact with ASPR attendees and exhibitors trying to get them to book their ASPR Conference hotel rooms through their service and at what they claim to be a “better rate.”
PLEASE NOTE: Exhibition Housing Services is not affiliated in any way with ASPR, the Hyatt Regency or the Millennium in Minneapolis.
ASPR has a room block reserved for ASPR Conference participants. All participants are encouraged to book directly through the Hyatt Regency or Millennium Hotel and within the established ASPR block available here.
Third-party companies, such as Exhibition Housing Services, sometimes promise rooms in hotels where they do not actually have rooms or blocks set up. There is the potential to be left without a room and to lose money paid in advance if you book through them.
If you have made a reservation through this company, or have questions or concerns, email ASPR’s Meeting Manager Julie Cygan.

Got a Question About Recruiting? Post It In a Forum!
ASPR Forums are a communication tool where ASPR members may ask industry related questions and share information. Forum discussions are archived and therefore a great resource to check when seeking information. ASPR has several Forums on different industry topics and there are also Forums available within Groups that you may be a member of.
From the main navigation menu, select Members Only > Resources > Forum to select which Forum you'd like to join.
Each topic under each heading is an individual Forum. In the example below, you can see that Marketing/Sourcing, Screening, Interview Pocess, and Other are all individual Forums under the Recruitment Process heading.
Once you’ve found a topic you’d like to subscribe to, click on the topic. Next, select your choice from the Forum Actions drop-down menu (see the example below).
- Subscribe to Instant Updates will send you an email every time someone posts a new question or response.
- Subscribe to Digest will email you a weekly summary of the Forums posts and responses.
- My Subscriptions & Settings brings you to a summary of all of your Forum subscriptions and settings.
- RSS will allow you to use an RSS reader for the feed, but will still require a log in.
- Top Posters allows you to see who has been most active on the Forum.
How Do I Manage My Forum Settings?
You must first subscribe to a Forum before you are able to set up your Preferences. Once you've subscribed, just click on My Subscriptions & Settings from the Forum Actions drop-down menu, or select Forum Settings in Manage Profile.
Once you are in your Forum Settings, you can change your options for Weekly Digests or Instant Updates. You can also create a unique signature for your postings within Forum.
How Do I Post a Question or Response in a Forum?
Click on the Forum Topic that you'd like to participate in and click on the New Topic or the Reply link at the top. You can earn Gamification Points for posting questions and responses in the Forum (5 points for each post!).
Please note that the Chat Code of Conduct and other ASPR policies apply to the Forum. Please follow the same rules.
Check Out the New & Improved Resource Library
Have you looked for a document in the Resource Library since ASPR launched its new website? If you have, you may have noticed some changes – new categories, better organization of documents and more current information.
During the transition to the new ASPR website, the Resource Library Committee was busy reviewing all of the documents that were on the old website to make sure only the most relevant, up-to-date content was posted in the Resource Library. The Committee also updated the categories to help you find things quickly. There is a wealth of information there to help you with your recruiting, retention or onboarding questions, and new content is being added regularly!
Do you have a resource you’d like to share? Please send documents that you feel may be helpful to the Resource Library Committee.
New Member Referral Program Coming
ASPR is making a change to its member referral program, effective July 1. Now, there will be more opportunities for you to win money!
The new program will award two member referral prizes each quarter – one prize to an ASPR member and one prize to an ASPR vendor. Winners will each receive $100.00. For every new member you refer in a quarter, you will receive one entry into the quarterly drawing. Multiple entries per quarter will be allowed if multiple referrals have been made – refer 10 new members, get entered to win 10 times!
Drawings will occur according to the following schedule:
Referrals from January 1 to March 31 - drawing on or about April 10
Referrals from April 1 to June 30 - drawing on or about July 10
Referrals from July 1 to September 30 - drawing on or about October 10
Referrals from September 1 to December 31 - drawing on or about January 10
Members or vendors who refer a member will only be eligible in the quarter during which the new member joins. A member or vendor is eligible to be entered multiple times for multiple referrals. Entries will be tracked quarterly and will not carry over from one quarter to another. To be eligible, the new member must list the referring member’s name on the membership application when joining.
