AIR Celebrates Its 5 Year Anniversary
At the 2014 ASPR Annual Conference in Minneapolis, Minn., the Academic In-house Recruiters Network (AIR) celebrated its 5 year anniversary as an ASPR chapter in style with food, a toast and anniversary cake. Donna Ecclestone, AIR President, welcomed the 45 attendees with a slide show and shared a brief presentation on the history and accomplishments of the chapter. “High Five” certificates were awarded to the 22 members who have been with AIR for the past five years. Recognition was also given to past AIR leaders for their contributions to the growth of the organization.
Minneapolis is a special place in AIR’s history as the chapter had its first half-day educational seminar there in 2009 prior to the ASPR educational conference. Courtney Kammer from Rush and Scott Caldie, formerly with Temple, presented the dynamic topics of how to start and grow an academic recruitment program and how to earn credibility in academic recruitment. Both themes are as important now as they were then.
AIR presently has 138 members, representing 86 entities in 40 states. The new leadership team for AIR includes Donna Ecclestone, President; Jennifer Kambies, Vice President; Stacey Armistead, Secretary; Lauren Judd, Treasurer; Aisha DeBerry and Trevor Bethel, Membership Chairs; Maggie Cravey and Marilyn Tipton, Ethic Committee Chairs; and Valerie Campana, Website Chair. If you are interested in joining AIR, please contact Trevor or Aisha.
