ST. PAUL, Minn., December 17, 2015 - Carey Goryl has been appointed the new Executive Director of the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (ASPR). Goryl will begin at ASPR effective January 1, 2016. She is currently with the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) in Elkridge, Md., where she has served as CEO for 10 years.
As CEO, Goryl received the Vision Award from IAFN in 2015. This honor distinguishes and identifies those individuals who have contributed significantly to the progression of forensic nursing.
While at IAFN, Goryl was responsible for guiding the association, incorporating all aspects of organizational management. She worked closely with staffing, board development, strategic planning, partnerships, budgeting, social media, marketing, and governmental advocacy.
ASPR is a professional organization solely for in-house physician recruitment professionals. They are the nation’s recognized leader on physician recruitment, onboarding, and retention.
“I’m excited for my new position at the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters and honored to be leading such a talented group of people,” said Goryl. “I will miss the International Association of Forensic Nurses and all that they have done for me, but I am thrilled to enter into an association that is eager to get ahead of the curve.”
Goryl earned her Masters of Social Work and her Bachelor of Science and Criminal Justice from Wayne State University. She is a graduate of the Woodhull Institute for Ethical Leadership and received a political appointment to the Maryland Commission for Women.
