A Letter from the Executive Director

By Jennifer Metivier, MS, FASPR, ASPR Executive Director

Jen Metivier, DASPRHave you noticed the ASPR Weekly emails in your inbox? In an effort to consolidate the number of emails that ASPR sends and in response to membership feedback, ASPR will now provide you with important news and updates through a new weekly email arriving in your inbox every Tuesday. We might from time to time still have a need to send an additional email, but we will make every effort to try to limit the number of emails by utilizing ASPR Weekly. I highly encourage you to read these emails to keep abreast of important news!

Many new programs and events have been highlighted in recent ASPR Weekly emails such as the ASPR Monthly Webinar Series that began in June. An article is included in this issue of JASPR listing recent and upcoming webinar topics. All webinars will be recorded and available for future on-demand viewing. We hope that these webinars will be a convenient and cost-effective (free!) way for you to obtain continuing education.

Another exciting new resource to highlight is the Vendor Resource Guide, which is located in the Member Resources section of the ASPR website. The Vendor Resource Guide is an online directory designed to help you search for vendors that provide products and services you may need to assist you in your job. This “Virtual Exhibit Hall” can be searched by service category and provides you with a summary of the vendor’s service or product, vendor’s contact information, and information on member discounts when available.

ASPR is also pleased to announce the newly adopted ASPR Vendor Ethics Guidelines and the creation of the ASPR Ethics Committee. ASPR is committed to conducting its affairs in accordance with the highest legal, moral, and ethical standards. Our expectation is that our Vendor Partners will operate their business with the same standards. The ASPR Vendor Ethics Guideline and the Vendor Partner Ethics Violation Form are available on the website. Additional information will be included in the fall issue of JASPR.

Another topic that you can expect to read about in the fall issue is an executive summary of the ASPR In-House Physician Recruitment Benchmarking Survey. The report and data are expected to be available in early July. Keep your eyes open for industry trends and highlights in the next issue!

Last, the ASPR Annual Conference is just around the corner. You’ll find information on the conference throughout this issue and on the website at We look forward to seeing you all in Chicago in a few weeks!

As always, I look forward to hearing any thoughts, suggestions, ideas or comments from you!
